Ace bassist Winston Blissett was called to NYC to do a Phil Collins session, So I asked my old friend Dale Davis to step-in. Dale has played with so many great artists, including Tina Turner, and, soon after this recording, with the late, great, Amy Winehouse. Dale is in all her videos with his Hoffman (is that right) bass!
lyrics
You spent so many years fighting your belief that you did not need me.
Did you hold back any tears knowing my relief that you could not bleed me any more?
Is it too late to take the darkness from your soul, even though you had the spirit, you just wanted to control?
It doesn't work like that, you're a slave to your past, it doesn't work like that, you've got to give it up and fast - it doesn't work, no, it doesn't work like that. It doesn't work, no it doesn't work.
I spent so many years trying to be real but you always hurt me. Yes you did.
Was this suffering for love something you can't feel, so you just desert me?
Is it too late to take the darkness from your soul, even though you had the spirit, you just wanted to control?
It doesn't work like that, you're a slave to your past, it doesn't work like that, you've got to give it up and fast - it doesn't work, no, it doesn't work like that. It doesn't work, no it doesn't work.

Loved Bridget with Hawkwind and Spirits Burning. This is an enthusiastic collection of songs with great performances and melodic and lyrical detail to fascinate.
