This was recorded in around 1995, using my Korg T2 to make the backing track, and a borrowed Fostex 8-track and a little mixer to record the vocals. All playing, performance, programming and playing by Steve Swindells.

Carried Away

Once I could say that my life was lonely and loveless,
friends I had many, but no one-to-one of the heart.
I gave myself to surviving and having a good time…
saving myself for my one true counterpart.

And now I look at my life as if I were flying,
the future brighter, the clouds all out of site.
And all because I found someone who could show me a new way…
carried away on a magic carpet ride.

I've got a reason to live and I'm no longer afraid,
I've got somebody to give me enough of their love to get carried away.
And I've been waiting so long, it had to happen someday,
I've got a feeling so strong, I know that it can't be wrong
to get carried away… carried away.

There's too much pain in this world to miss such a good thing,
the more we show what we feel, the happier we'll be.
If all this laughter and love could be everlasting,
then I'd be carried beyond my wildest dreams.
